House+Earth Green Cabinet Design Process

Cabinetry is one of the most utilized, dramatic, and costly finish out items that you'll put in your home and, trust us, the decision making is not easy. Homeowner's are faced with a number of design choices. These decisions need to balance form and function, marrying an aesthetically appealing look with an efficient utilization of space and cabinet functionality.  Cabinetry can be designed in a range of styles from ultra-sleek contemporary to very traditional with array of flavors in between.

At House+Earth, we want to help you find the perfect green cabinetry to fit your taste and budget and we want that cabinetry to be safe for you and your family.

Step 1: The Consultation (a complimentary service)

Arrange a time to meet with a House+Earth professional to discuss your goals, desired look, and budgetary restraints. We’ll walk you through what to expect when purchasing green cabinets as well as all of the different styles/options and price points that are available.

Already have plans?

If you already have cabinetry plans or drawings, bring them in. After discussing door, wood, and finish options, House+Earth will provide you a no-charge ballpark estimate.

Just getting started?

If you’re just getting started, bring in magazine clippings or photos of cabinetry styles that spark your imagination. Think about your storage needs and what aspects of your current kitchen work for you and what aspects need improvement. From there House+Earth will be able to instruct you on how to take kitchen measurements and create a rough drawing for your cabinetry layout. We’ll then be able to provide you a rough ballpark quote for your cabinetry job.

Step 2: The Design Process (deposit required)

After you’re satisfied with the timetables and rough cost of your green cabinetry, we’ll begin the design process. A $1000 deposit is required which will go towards the final cost of the cabinetry should you decide to move forward. The design process entails professionals taking exact measurements of your space and a final set of plans being proofed and agreed upon.

In addition, a House+Earth professional cabinetry installer will provide a quote for the installation of your cabinetry. You, of course, may choose to use your own installer but in the interest of convenience, we will provide an install quote.

Step 3: Manufacture and Install

The cabinetry will take 4-6 weeks to manufacture and deliver depending on the style you end up choosing. House+Earth will provide delivery dates and will work with your installer to schedule pick up. Should you choose to work with the House+Earth installer, we will schedule delivery and installation dates that are suitable to you.

In order to begin the manufacturing process, a 50% down payment will be due. The remaining 50% will be due two days prior to delivery of the cabinetry to House+Earth.
